Sandersville Sizzler Trail Run 5K and Mountain Bike RideWhen: Saturday July 27, 2024 starting at 8 a.m.
Where: Forest Grove Preserve, 1200 Bartow Rd., Sandersville, GA 31082
What: A beautiful trail run (5K/3.1 miles) or a beautiful trail bike ride (5k, 10k, or 15k)
Why: The trail run will benefit the proposed Georgia Hi-Lo trail which will connect two trail projects to form a 250- mile paved road-separated path through small Georgia towns from Athens to Savannah.
Cost: $25 through June 1, 2024 and $35 from June 2, 2024 through day of race for either event
Register before July 1, 2024 to be guaranteed a t-shirt
Georgia Hi Lo's vision is to connect two trail projects to form a 250-mile paved, road-separated path through small Georgia towns from Athens to Savannah.
1) Firefly Trail - begins in Athens and will end in Union Point, a distance of 39 miles when completed. Firefly Trail, Inc. began their work in 2007 and have been true “trail blazers” across small communities in Georgia.
2) Georgia Hi-Lo Trail - will connect to the Firefly Trail in Union Point and continue on to Savannah – a 211-mile stretch through rural Georgia.
